Donated by Rozanne Lepine, this is a beautiful pendant by the artist, Monica Lake-Monro  Go to Instagram, "lakemonro", to see more of her work. The pendant is about 2" x 1".

Dichroic glass is vapourized with metal oxides; it was originally produced for NASA to use for astronauts' visors, etc. but artists now deploy it in creative ways.  Monica Lake-Monro cuts, grinds, and fires each piece multiple times at temperatures over 1200 degrees F. The heat tempers the glass so it is unbreakable. This also brings out the intense shimmering colours.  Each pendant is unique.
